Methodist JHS closed down as hooligans force teacher to kneel before students

The Ghana Education Service has shut down the Akyem Anyinasin Methodist Junior High School in Abuakwa North Municipality in the Eastern area for the sake of security.

The choice to shut down the school briefly follows an assault by a pack of hoodlums who constrained a teacher to bow and apologize to students in the wake of rebuffing them.

As per starrfm.com.gh, the teacher being referred to restrained a few students for offense on Monday, July 24, 2022.

The despondent students apparently whined to some town paeople who then greeted the teacher while he was coming back after school.

The perturbed hoodlums constrained the teacher to stoop and apologize to the students, and further compromised different teachers at the school.

The episode definitely stood out of the Abuakwa North Municipal Directorate of Education, and a choice was brought to close down the school for now.

Abena Gyamerah, the city head of GES, visited the school on Thursday, July 28, 2022, to meet the teachers over the what happened.

“The students made trouble and the teachers attempted to address them yet they went to illuminate the town people so it was the town people who compromised the teachers. So I gave guidance that the school be shut down today so we sit on the issue. It is still being scrutinized,” she said in a meeting with Starr news.
